Almost every steam room failure in Nepal is scale. Vapor 9 drains and flushes the tank after every session, and the element is removable without pulling the unit — a descale is an hour, not a replacement.

Installation requirements
What the room has to provide
Published so your architect, electrician and contractor can plan around it — before the walls close.
- Electrical
- 3-phase, 400V, 3 × 20 A MCB with 30 mA RCD, isolator adjacent to the unit.
- Cable
- 5 × 4 mm² to the generator; 4-core control cable to the room panel.
- Clearances
- 300 mm above and 150 mm each side for service access.
- Ventilation
- Plant space must be ventilated and stay below 40 °C.
- Room build
- Tanked and tiled room with a 1:80 fall to drain; no timber inside the wet zone.
- Drainage
- 22 mm gravity drain to a tundish — never a direct connection.
- Water
- Softened supply below 150 ppm hardness. Kathmandu mains typically requires treatment.
- Steam head must be at least 200 mm above floor and away from the seat.
- Room ceiling needs a 1:100 fall so condensate runs to the wall, not onto the user.

Questions
- Do we need a water softener?
- In the Kathmandu valley, almost always. Untreated supply here runs well above 150 ppm and will scale a generator within a season. We size the treatment with the generator.
