The bench is the building

A hammam is not a steam room with marble in it. The göbek taşı is heated from below through the slab, which means the structure, the waterproofing and the heating are one detail — designed together or not at all.

Installation requirements

What the room has to provide

Published so your architect, electrician and contractor can plan around it — before the walls close.

Electrical: Generator circuit plus a 10 A circuit for bench heating and lighting, all on RCD.
Ventilation: Mechanical extract on a run-on timer — 15 minutes after the last session.
Room build: Full tanking to 2 m minimum, ceiling included. Falls of 1:80 to drain.
Drainage: Central gulley with removable grate; secondary drain at the entry threshold.
Water: Softened supply to the generator; hot and cold to the wash stations.

Structural check required — a stone bench plus users is 600–900 kg on the slab.
Design and build together: retrofitting tanking into a finished room is a demolition job.
